Recipe second for 4 people based on Beef - cooking method pan oven.
Preparation: Cut the meat into cubes and pass them in the flour to which you have already added salt and pepper. In a pan, melt the lard or butter and brown the thinly sliced onion until it is transparent. Add the meat and the coarsely chopped bacon and brown them until they are golden brown. At this point sprinkle with the Guinness and add the raisins and brown sugar. Then let it cook over low heat until the meat is cooked. Season with salt and pepper. Stir occasionally and add Guinness or water if the sauce becomes too thick. Line a cake pan with the puff pastry and bake it in the oven at 170 degrees for about 15 minutes. At the end, pour the meat into the pan and close it with the remaining puff pastry, pressing the edges well with a fork. Place back in the oven and cook over medium heat until the top of the cake is golden brown. Serve hot. It is a rich and substantial single dish. It is usually served with baked potatoes in their skins (potatoes in a jacket) or with mashed potatoes and applesauce.
